Fred J. Halloran, MS, MD is a Diplomate of The American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM), with a concentration in preventive health and Geriatric assessment. He is an advocate of the American College of Physicians' screening protocols for early cancer detection. He follows the U.S. Preventative Services Task Force's nationally recognized guideline for preventive practices. After graduation from Northwestern University Medical School he completed a majority of his residency at Loyola University Medical Center, Maywood, Illinois. He was recertified by the ABIM in 2002.
Dr. Halloran's graduate research activities were pursued in the Division of Neurosurgery at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Chicago, Illinois, leading to a Masters Degree in Neuroanatomy. Other research was within the Department of Urology at Northwestern Medical School focusing on the development of screening tests for prostate cancer.
